隱身在甫開幕人龍車陣川流、美食精品娛樂匯集、熱鬧喧塞的裕隆城,「裕隆70人車生活特展」在5樓中庭約略30坪迷你場地裡,靜靜地紀錄與述說這個國內最有壯志情懷企業兩代4位企業負責人的篳路藍縷與轉型蛻變~~~
因為展覽很迷你,很多裕隆有趣有意義的歷史沒放在展覽資料裡。以車子來說,除了我家也擁有過的4檔拼命開不會壞後驅飄移之王 - 速利303,我有幸駕乘過的還有:
(1)
萬利、吉利青鳥、樂利、勝利轎車系列。青鳥在卅多年前就配備定速巡航、勝利2,200cc柴油車則是從全省各營區、屏東墾丁、乃至下雪的清境、合歡山都得見的計程車經典。
(2)
雷鳥,應該能算是國內pickup皮卡車祖師爺。
(3)
寶馬Bobby、好馬Homer商用廂車、乃至後續嘗試分食休旅車市場的福滿多。
帶領國內產業往技術自主邁進的佳作與傑作:
(1)
飛羚101、102、尖兵,其中102是最足以讓裕隆能站穩國際車市的車款,可惜才剛出國門就被台灣同業(福特)搞垮了......
(2)
各有兩代的Nissan Sentra與Cefiro系列,Cefiro應該是裕隆汽車事業的最高峰。
(3)
自主品牌Luxgen,故事由1995年購買Pininfarina兜售的Renault第一代Espace老底盤(MY-1984)、從事引擎自主研發的華擎機械工業、與嚴家曾經最信賴的兩位總經理人林信義、陳國榮先生們開始。這個自有品牌事業曾經投注的驚人投資與努力結晶,真是應該接受大家的讚美與肯定!!!
也很榮幸我曾是這個70年企業裡滄海一粟的小螺絲釘。
「裕隆70人車生活特展」展期至(2023年)十月底,一部悠美的現在進行式故事書,很快就要把表演場地還給能日生斗金的購物中心了。我踏著從空氣中有鐵屑、油汙、臭氧味道的工業廠區華麗變身矗立為有誠品這家被書局耽誤的百貨公司經營的購物中心,很有奇妙的感覺~~~
Hidden amidst the
newly opened bustling crowds and traffic, with gourmets, boutiques,
entertainment, and the lively congestion at Yulon City Mall, the Yulon Motor's
70th anniversary exhibition quietly takes place in the 5th-floor
atrium, occupying a modest space of about 100 meter square. it records and
narrates the arduous journey and transformation of two generations and four leaders
from the most ambitious and passionate motor company in Taiwan.
Since a mini exhibition
it is, many interesting and meaningful moments in Yulon history are not displayed.
In terms of cars, aside from the RWD king of drifting with a die-hard 4-speed
manual transmission that my family once owned, the Sunny 303, I’ve also been
lucky to driving the following cars:
(1)
the Violet, Bluebird, Laurel, and Cedric sedan series. over thirty
years ago, Bluebird was already equipped with cruise control, and Cedric 2,200cc
diesel was a taxi classic and could be seen across all military camps, and
everywhere from Kenting beach to snow-covered Qingjing Farm or Mount Hehuan.
(2)
Thunderbird, the pioneer of pickup in Taiwan.
(3)
The Bobby, Homer commercial vans, and even the Vanette which later
attempted to carve selected MPV market.
Leading the
domestic industry toward technical independence, we saw masterpieces like:
(1)
Feeling 101, 102, and Arex. The Feeling 102 could be the model
that milestones Yulon's place in global automotive market, but sadly it was
sabotaged by a Taiwanese competitor (Ford Lio-Ho) just as it was about to make
its international debut.
(2)
The two generations of Nissan Sentra and Cefiro with domestic
significant facelifts. Cefiro has represented the pinnacle of Yulon’s automotive success.
(3)
The story of the independent brand Luxgen initiated in 1995 with
the purchase of the first-generation Renault Espace chassis (MY-1984) sold by
Pininfarina, independent engine development by Hua-Chin Industrial (now
reorganized and renamed as CHINA ENGINE CORP.), and the involvement of two presidents
whom the Yen family once trusted the most, Mr. Lin, Hsin-Yi and Mr. Chen,
Kuo-Rong. The remarkable investment and efforts poured into this independent
brand business truly deserve everyone's praise and recognition!
It's also my honor
to have been a small cog in the wheel of this 70-year-old enterprise.
The Yulon Motor's
70th anniversary exhibition runs until the end of October 2023. this beautiful,
ongoing story will soon make way for the shopping center, which can generate
far more daily revenue. As I step from an industrial plant area, once filled
with the smell of iron filings, grease, and ozone, now transformed into a
shopping center operated by Eslite, a bookstore disguised as a department
store, it brought me a sense of wonder.
