Hon Hai (Foxconn) Group, one of the world's largest electronic
component OEM manufacturers, unveiled a series of systemized products and
solutions during its HHTD 2024 event on October 8-9. These include the Qubit 1
ion trap generator (for quantum computers) and the Pearl 1H low-Earth orbit
satellite in fields of fundamental scientific, AI-powered robotic arms and CNC
simulation platforms for manufacturing plants, generative AI voice consultation
services for medical and healthcare applications, lithium battery manufacturing
with breakthroughs in cathode cell materials and gel electrolytes, and highly
modularized electric vehicle package solutions covering full vehicle design and
manufacturing.
Hon Hai (Foxconn) showcased several near-finished or already
available electric vehicle models, with battery, motor, electronic control,
autonomous driving, and various detection systems provided by the Group. These
components can be replaced, adjusted, or customized according to client needs.
Regarding this series of electric vehicle modular platforms, Jun
Seki, EV CSO of Hon Hai (Foxconn), stated that they aim to achieve a 40% global
market share in EVs. In addition to the already commercially-launched Model C (Taiwanese automaker
Luxgen, model name n7) and Model T, two modular platforms are in the late contract stage
with two Japanese automakers this year. According to industry insiders, Hon Hai
(Foxconn) was in final contract negotiations with a German automaker for
electric vehicle OEM production in 2022. However, due to a lack of agreement
between the automaker and its union, Hon Hai (Foxconn) ultimately did not
secure the international EVOEM order.
